Our Mission
We serve God, by helping children surpass what others said they would never achieve.
Why We Are Here
Our Director, Cherie River's nephew, Harrison, was born with Down Syndrome 26 years ago. When she observed his speech therapy sessions, she decided to become a Speech Language Pathologist.
Cherie started her private practice over 18 years ago on her own working out of her home. Through the years, we have been very fortunate to have gained a great reputation in our community.
Currently we have over 50 employees serving children in schools, clinics, and homes in Allegheny, Butler, Beaver, Westmoreland, and Washington counties. We thank God for the blessing of serving hundreds of precious children each week!
Who we Are
River Pediatric Therapies is a private practice that believes each step counts!
River is staffed with over 50 outstanding, certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologists, Developmental Therapists, Behavioral Therapists, Occupational Therapies, Physical Therapists, Psychologists, and Social Workers.
River Pediatric Therapies utilizes interactive techniques that make your child feel joy and accomplishment each session. River optimizes the benefits of the natural environment by consulting in the child's school, home, preschool, or day care and by helping their teachers to become a part of the process in reaching your child's goals.
Caregivers and family members are encouraged to participate in the treatment sessions and to follow through with suggestions for carry-over at home.
Therapists provide a comprehensive approach to intervention that focuses on the whole child because each step counts!
